KKBDA Library System
Custom library management system built for the KKBDA community library in Jitra, Kedah, Malaysia. Commissioned to replace an outdated Koha setup with a tailored, modern web application offering streamlined book cataloging, patron management, barcode checkout, and circulation monitoring. Challenge: Seamlessly migrating historical data from the legacy Koha system into the new application, accurately transferring more than 9,000+ catalog records, patron memberships, borrow histories, and active circulation logs without data loss. Solution: Architected robust ETL migration scripts to parse, cleanse, and normalize legacy Koha records into a high-performance MySQL schema. Built a responsive React/TypeScript frontend backed by PHP endpoints, and configured automated background cron jobs for overdue calculation, fine assessment, membership status renewals, and system maintenance.
